Teachers As Readers

To encourage teachers and administrators to stay current with quality children’s and adolescent literature, teaching materials and professional issues the Shenandoah Valley Reading Council has developed Teachers as Readers.  Creating a group of colleagues that meets regularly and discusses readings give educators a chance to grow intellectually by reading.  These groups also give opportunities for professional growth and sharing.  Sharing educational literature with colleagues not only harbors professional knowledge but in turn sets the stage for reading growth in students.

The Shenandoah Valley Reading Council would like to award two $100 incentives to Teachers as Readers groups.  Any groups interested in starting or continuing a TAR group can complete a grant application by December 31. For form click in table above.
